Secret Garden: 20 Postcards

It's the size of a small notebook. The pages are around 300gsm and are really good for any medium of colors. I used color pencils, pens and water colors and the paper endured them all with perfect grace! Also you can tear out individual pages as it is glued at the spine of the book and not sewn. The book does not become flimsy and nor do the other pages come loose upon tearing out pages from in between the book.A perfect companion on long flights or silent meditative evenings!I prefer these postcard format over books as it is hardbound, there is absolutely no bleeding of colors on to the back of the page, it is easy to carry around without bending the book and the pages can be easily ripped put to frame it up or to simply post to your loved ones! i'mgonnagetmemoreofthese!!!

I ordered this post card edition because the original book was not in stock. I'm so glad I got this! Although small, it's such a joy colouring it in. The 20 postcards have designs that are complex and easy. I've never coloured inside the lines and it is harder in this book, but I still love it! I ordered the Staedtler pens the artist (Johanna Basford) recommended as well and it makes it easier to colour.This is a great stress buster with the added bonus that you can post your finished product and gloat !

love the postcard versions of the drawing. very detailed and it can take you weeks to finish one postcard unless you have lots of patience of coloring them. however, they are a great way to relax and i love taking my time to color each element.

(Mostly) very good and intricate designs on good quality postcard paper.

Where do I begin. I am practically addicted to a number of the prints in this book. The owl is amazing as are the bugs. Plus many others. I have colored these over and over and also given the book of postcards to friends.

Die Bilder sind wunderschon gewählt, sehr detailreich und ermöglichen einen großen Spielraum an eigenen Farbvorstellungen. Wenn die Stifte gute gespitzt sind und einen satten Farbauftrag ermöglichen( z.B. Faber Castell) geht es mit einem durch: intensive Farben nebeneinander, Abstufungen durch Doppelbemalungen oder pastellige Felder....alles ist möglich. Zur Entspannung ist das sehr beglückend für den Maler wie für den anschließendem Empfänger eine Freude. Der Kartenkarton ist für vielerlei trockene und feuchte Stifte geignet, das Adressfeld übersichtlich und auch noch hübsch dekoriert. Wunderbare Herbst- und Winterbeschäftigung....!!!!

Es un mini libro de 12.1x16.5cm con 20 ilustraciones en formato postal de las ilustraciones del libro original de Johanna Basford el cual se hizo y sigue siendo tan famoso por sus bellas ilustraciones. Yo tengo el libro original pero quería tener también este porque además de que me encantan las ilustraciones, encuentro ventajas en este tipo de formato.La encuadernación es pegada y se pueden extraer las hojas sin ningún problema, por lo que las puedes utilizar para enviar postales, o para enmarcarlas, o como quieras... Que aunque lo anuncien como libro de postales, yo lo he comprado para colorearlo simplemente. Otra gran ventaja es que la calidad del papel es mucho mejor, es de muy buena calidad (cartulina gruesa).Las ilustraciones están a una sola cara, y aunque sea un tamaño de libro pequeño encuentro que la mayoría de las imágenes tienen un buen tamaño para colorearlas sin problema ya que las ilustraciones de más detalle en lugar de simplemente poner la imagen original reducida lo que han hecho es poner la imagen ampliada.Por todo lo mencionado se puede colorear con cualquier medio sin preocuparte de estropear el siguiente dibujo. ¡es ideal!Yo personalmente hay veces que me apetece colorear algo que no sea grande y que quede terminado el mismo día y hacerlo relajadamente sin preocuparme de manchar otro dibujo ni nada por eso me ha gustado mucho esta opción.Lo recomiendo tanto si lo quieres usar para enviar postales coloreadas por ti o si lo quieres tener como libro de colorear, y es apto para todo tipo de público

Beautiful images. Some are super tiny details and others quite basic in comparison. Nice card that limits bleeding of colours. Works ok with watercolour markers.Overall I’m impressed with delivery and quality. Just wish some of the images didn’t require a magnifying glass to complete the detail

I was SO happy when I discovered these pretty floral (matte) postcards to colour and send to friends. They are one-sided (for colouring) and are easily removed from the side-binding: it's similar to taking paper from a pad BUT this is thick cardboard or heavy card stock. The back of each has a postcard look to it (though a bit bigger) with stamp area and simple address lines on the right & blank for message on left. The picture on each card is significantly different from others so you don't get the "been there, coloured one like that" feeling at all. For instance, one card has a solo sunflower with large leaves and bees, while another has a whimsical vine with almost rhythmic sway and a variety of artsy flowers. The scenes are well balanced with attention given to providing some important white space as well. Most of the cards have lots to colour (though not too intricate or tedious for me) yet frankly, just a couple had small designs for their area but so what? I have enjoyed colouring the majority of cards in this book. Additionally, I was able to find Prismacolor coloured pencils I like a lot and a set of Royal Langnickel NEON pencils to add just a little extra zip here & there. ALL so fun and I hope this artist gives us more postcard book selections with colouring spaces that are reasonably large to fill in.
