Annabel Karmel's Baby-Led Weaning Recipe Book

Love This Book
Love This Book !This book has been my ‘Bible’. Annabel clearly explains which are the best foods for Baby Led Weaning and how to prepare them and gave me the confidence to try baby led weaning . I bought other books on BLW but the recipes were very bland and my baby just wouldn’t eat them. Annabel finds ways to make baby food delicious so much that we want to eat the recipes ourselves . I am baffled by some of the reviews that say she adds salt to her recipes as she has quite clearly marked on all the recipes not to add salt before one year and instead uses herbs and clever combinations to bring out the flavour . Am not a great cook but everything I have tried so far has been so easy to make . I love the recipes where everything gets blitzed in a food processor and then the mixture is made into little balls the perfect size for small hands ., My son couldn’t get enough of the the Mini Burgers with grated apple and thyme and we are all addicted to the no sugar Mini Energy Balls which need no baking and are the perfect snack for all ages . It’s amazing value and a book we will use for many years to come ….

Disappointing
I was disappointed by this book, especially considering all the reviews. It has some nice recipes but it's definitely not worth 5 stars. A few recipes have sugar as an ingredient, one has sweet chilli sauce which is full of sugar and all the recipes have quite a few ingredients. I was hoping for a book with easy and quick baby friendly recipes in which I later found elsewhere (young gums - a must read for BLW ideas).

Waste of money
Recipes aren't very new or different from other baby led weaning books. Doesn't provide quantities for cooking for whole family or much advice around practicalities. No meal planners as in purse book. Waste of money. Recipes repeated from her other book which I already had and I would question passing off instructions for making a sandwich as a 'recipe'

Not what I thought it would be
Not really baby led weaning, there is a lot of recipes like smoothies and soups that would require you to use a spoon. Maybe you need her other book to understand when and what to start on and move on to? I didn’t find it helpful so I am sending back for a refund however some of the recipes do appear to be good but for babies that are well established in eating.

Gourmet Cook!
I bought this book to help me with weaning as I'm a fussy eater and wanted to make sure my daughter didn't suffer. Turns out this book only applies if you're a gourmet cook! If you are a new mum and you have time to make these recipies then you're a better woman than me!
