Worked a treat. Was able to use this device together with a mini ssd card from old pc in which it had been used as a cache. It now operates as additional external USB drive on new pc.

Useful for setting up an SSD in an old laptop
SSD is easy to screw in place. The device allowed me to format the SSD ready for an OS for an old laptop. This was done on another computer first. Useful device to have.

Did not work for me?
I had to return this, as I thought it would fit, a small SSD card, normally used, as in internal component, for the computer, I was hoping to wipe it, and re-install Windows from scratch, however it seems to fit a slightly bigger mini SSD card.It would be nice to know the size before buying it.
