Penofin F5EKMGA Knotwood Oil Finish - Mahogany Tone ~ One Gallon by Penofin

Ok so I have the horrible trex deck in fruitwood color (basically dark mahogany with black veining) that has turned pink over the first two years. If your reading this review to determine whether you should buy a trex deck and how to treat it, don't buy trex. Now for this product, it is outstanding. Works exactly like it supposed to. Made my deck look new again. I will follow up after a season but I can tell you we are thrilled that our deck looks like mahogany again. Excellent product and easy to apply.

I purchased the samples. Both Cedar and Mahogany looked about the same on the sample. Got Mahogany. Have Trex first generation in Saddle which was a lighter brown tone. Eastern exposure, deck runs entire length of house. Using Olympic Cleaner for composites 3-4 times per year to remove mold. Deck faded and scuffed, and stains easily. Very disappointed with the decking but thats another story. Applied Knotwood Mahogany to one area and it first appeared really dark. The second picture is 3 days later, cloudy and rainy weather, but lightened up a good bit. Still much darker than the original Saddle color. Scuffs still remain but decking looks rich and new again. I read a second coat will help with scuffs. Its too humid to continue the remainder of the project right now but I'm loving the product.Second photo shows finished area with the faded Saddle area is beside it.I've researched thoroughly for a solution and this product is the only one that I'm pleased with. I did use the Behr product on one of the stairs and a year later, it is peeling.

Used this to restore our Trex deck. I could not be happier - better than expected. Our deck was so washed-out before and now it looks brand new. We did a light power-washing a few days before application. This was applied with a roller, wiped down about 30 minutes later and total application was done in a couple hours. We are curious to see how it looks after a year or two but I would apply this again without hesitation.

My 12 yr old composite deck was really showing it's age. The original dark mahogany color had turned an ugly gray. Also, I was getting mildew/mold every year because my deck is on the north side of my house. After some research, I found Penofin which sounded promising. It worked great on all my dark railing pieces. I applied it with a 4" foam roller. The old composite soaked it up and restored the original color. It's fairly easy and quick to apply. Just don't drip it on a lighter piece; it will soak right in and stain. Time will tell on the mildew problem, but I would highly recommend.

Brought my composite porch back to life.
