If your equipment is in proper working order then yes you should see the needle jump/move when you hear the first beat (this is your systolic pressure) and it will cease moving when you no longer hear the beat (this is your diastolic pressure). This is how you get your blood pressure which is: BP = Systolic/Diastolic Ex: BP = 120/80

Q: Does the supplies come with it?

Everything you see comes with it. This isn’t super sensitive to sound but a good starter kit. I would recommend for anyone starting out.
