Green Mountain Fire Wood 10 pk

A bit pricey but a great product. Easy, clean, and consistent fires.

Takes just as much effort to start as real wood and does not burn as hot as seasoned hardwood. Poor value when compared to other environmental log substitutes, since it takes twice as many “logs” to maintain a good woodstove temperature and burn duration. Took 3/4 hr with two logs to get to 300F and had to add two more logs after another 1&1/4 hrs to get a 4&1/2 hr burn that never exceeded 450F. In comparison, using two of my favorite environmental log substitutes gets a 4&1/2 hr burn that gets to 600F. My favorite (100% recycled wax cardboard) starts very easy with a wrapper and has a nice smell, unlike the stinky Duraflame logs. I love the “make the fire and walk away” benefit that even works well when using one “log” with real wood over a piece of a cardboard box. I will try the Green Mountain again starting with 4 “logs” to hopefully get to a higher woodstove temperature, but not buying again. The bonus “Fatwood” starters were the best benefit of the purchase.Update: Took 1/2 hr with 4 logs to get to 400F and reached 600F during a 2&1/2 hr burn. So the temperature went up, but burn duration went down. This 4 log start is definitely the better way to use these Green Mountain logs in a woodstove, especially if you like to burn cash. My conclusion is that 6 of these logs may be equivalent to 2 of my favorite environmental log substitutes.

It’s almost impossible to light the log, and once it does burn, it barely burns it just Smulders. It’s only good to add two other fires that are already burning and very hot already. Overall, they still might be worth it because there’s no chemicals in the log.

Great for wood stove while hot tent camping

So I've heard a lot about compressed sawdust wood alternatives. I found this product on amazon and oathers. I decided to give this one a try. I'm glad I did. Its awesome. I do use it with my wood and it goes up fast and makes for a very hot fire. I like it a lot. I put it in before I got to sleep to keep my woodburning stove going. It lasts longer than my split wood and throws a lot of heat. Very pleased and will purchase again and again.

10 for over 26 dollars , home depot sells a 8 pack for under 10 bucks , needs a fire started to light no heat from one or 2 . 3 got alittle hot , dont waste your money
