Getting nearer to yesterday
Mister Opie's tenth wonderful Scrapbook carries on with the same unique presentation, each themed spread has one big still-life photo filled with packaging and printed matter. The items are carefully arranged so you can get an appreciation of what they looked like and don't be put off because the book has only sixty-two pages, it opens up to spreads twenty-one inches wide by fifteen deep and includes 1400 items in color.Like the other Scrapbooks what is shown is the everyday stuff that could be found in any British home and as this is the Seventies, one spread is devoted to the change to decimal currency in 1971. The spread for groceries and the one for cleaning and toiletries probably show more than two hundred examples of packaging. Pop music with four spreads is a bit too much though. The list just goes on, fashion, television, cigarette packets, comics, film posters, board games, confectionary, car brochures, football, magazine and newspapers and more and more. Every time I look through these Scrapbooks I find something I hadn't noticed before. If you are interested in what printed matter was in the average British home during the Seventies this book will show you. If you want to know about the others in the series have a look at my Listmania 'Mr Opie and his wonderful scrapbooks'***FOR AN INSIDE LOOK click 'customer images' under the cover.

Must be taken off the shelf
I bought the above book for a 40 th birthday present and l am horrified that there were pictures of Jimmy Saville , Gary Glitter and Rolf Harris . 3 despicable sex offenders .Luckily l have never been abused but have worked with many that have been . If this was book was given to a survivor of abuse this could cause many flashbacks and memories of their abuse .Please could someone get back to me on this issue .

Yay 1970’s - I was there man
Great resource book, for trying to explain what the 70’s were about to my disinterested kids - I am off to buy a chopper now

Brilliant nostalgia trip for people born in the 70s
Brilliant nostalgia trip for people born in the 70s! Brings back so many good memories of what I saw, read, played with, watched, wore, eat and drank. And more! Great coffee table book to spark up conversations. Never tire of opening it up and looking at the wonderful pictures. Slight downside is the small text areas which provide more detail on the sections uses a silly font that is barely readable. Still it is essentially a picture book so not end of the world.

Great book
I purchased this book for our residents living with dementia. It brought back so many memories and took them back to a time they remember. Vast selection of memorabilia for all to look through. Great purchase.

More for the Collection
This was a Christmas present for my husband and he loved it. He has a collection of these scrapbooks and didnt have that one. We went to the Rowbrt Opie Museum of Packaging for his birthday and saw this book there in their shop so came home and ordered it from you as it is cheaper.and more convenient for us. These scrapbooks especially the 70s are full of young adult memories for us as we were born in the early fifties. excellent colour on every page and very cheering to look at.
